Tapir

There are 4 species of Tapir alive today. These mammals have hooves, and they use their trunk-like noses to sniff out vegetation. Although they closely resemble large pigs, their nearest relatives are actually horses and rhinos. Appearing in the early Eocene (55 million years ago), Prehistoric tapir skeleton fossils are most commonly found in Florida.
