1.5" x 1.5" Rough Obisidan

When Felsic lava from a volcano is expelled and cooled rapidly, an igneous rock is formed. The result is a hard, brittle stone similar to glass that fractures with sharp edges. Years ago it was used for cutting and hunting, and most recently considered for surgical scalpel blades. Some components include oxygen, aluminum, sodium, silicon, and potassium.
