1.75" Carcharodon C. Upper Tooth

This is a serrated Great White Shark (Carcharodon Carcharias) tooth measuring 1.75" long from Baja California Sur. This tooth is rarer than most megalodon teeth as it was found high in the mountain ranges from the Miocene to Pliocene era, and is approximately 2.6 to 15 million years old. 

Due to an extensive range of tooth morphology in Mako sharks, research on their evolution is on-going. Please contact a paleo-biologist for further information.
